Omega-3 fatty acids are an essential fatty acid. Benefits for the Brain
The brain is made up of a variety of cells that make up it's bulk. The neuron is one of these cells and these kinds of cells have a sheath around them that acts kind of like the plastic covering of an electical wire. Omega-3 fatty acids are a key building block of these sheaths called "Myelin Sheaths".
